The Social Security Disability process is extremely hard to navigate. Do not try to do it on your own. I will be honest with you from our first conversation whether I think you have a case for disability. It can be a very long process (2+ years) so you need an honest opinion from the start. I do not take every case that calls me because I do not believe that is fair to you.
Your eligibility for social security disability is not unlimited. There are two types of Social Security Disability -- Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) and Supplemental Security Income (SSI).
SSDI: If you have worked around 5 of the last 10 years you are likely eligible for SSDI. But beware that your disability insurance benefits have an expiration date. Because of this "expiration" date it is so important that you present your best available case the very first time. Use an experienced attorney to help you present your best case.
SSI: If you have limited recent work then you may only be eligible for SSI. The date of disability under the SSI program is the date that you file the claim so do not delay! Call me to discuss your potential case. SSI is a financial need based benefit in addition to the disability portion so let's discuss your potential case based on your individual situation.
There is no up front fee and I only get paid if you are awarded benefits. Let's talk about your case today. With my firm, you will work directly with me and my paralegal from the first day to the last. You will not be passed around from case manager to case manager and attorney to attorney. If your case goes to a hearing, it will not be the first time we have ever spoken. I will always have personal time invested in your case.
